A notary for a car title in Lubbock

If you need a notary for a car title in Lubbock, I come to you. I start from 3517 78th Drive, and I travel up to 60 miles from that address. The first 10 round-trip miles are $10. Each mile after that is $1. Past 60 miles, I do not make the trip.

The usual act on a title is an acknowledgment. The fee for that act, under Government Code § 406.024, is $10 for the first signature and $1 for each additional signature on the same title. Travel, time of day, and any location fee are separate lines. They are billed only when the act is performed.

Bring the title, not a photograph of it. Every person whose signature I notarize must be in the room with a current government photo ID. A driver's license, a state identification card, or a passport is the usual evidence. An expired card will stop the act. I do not copy the identification number into the journal. Government Code § 406.014 and 1 Texas Administrative Code § 87.50 prohibit that, and they prohibit a fingerprint.

Do not expect me to decide whether the title is ready for the county tax office. I do not fill in the assignment, name the buyer, or tell you which boxes to complete. If a blank is still empty, or a page is missing, I cannot complete the notarization. If you are not sure the title is finished, settle that before I arrive.

A paper title is a visit. The certificate is on the document the office will see. I do not treat a vehicle title as a remote session unless the office that will accept the title has told you it will take a Texas online certificate. I do not control that office.

Weekday appointments are from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Weekend appointments are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. I do not take an appointment outside those hours. There is no deposit. I hold the time when I confirm it.

I am not an attorney licensed to practice law in Texas and may not give legal advice or accept fees for legal advice. I do not tell you whether you should sell the vehicle, or whether the title will transfer.

This note describes how I work. It is not legal advice.

Set a time.

Book an appointment, or call or text (806) 543-3374. Tell me the document and whether you need a visit or a video session.
