FAQ
Questions before you book.
Short answers about appointments, fees, cancellation, and Remote Online Notary. The fee schedule, quote, and policies are the full statement.
Are you an attorney?
No. I am a Texas Notary Public. I do not draft documents, and I do not give legal advice. If you need advice about what a document means, ask a licensed attorney.
What can you notarize?
Acknowledgments, jurats, affidavits, powers of attorney, medical directives, vehicle titles, and similar acts, in person or online when Texas law allows the act online. I do not offer real-estate loan-signing packages.
Do you come to me?
Yes. I travel up to 60 miles from 3517 78th Dr, Lubbock, TX 79423. The towns are on the Services page. Farther than that, a remote session is the way to avoid the trip. I do not keep walk-in hours. Weekday service is 8:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m. Weekend service is 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. The first 10 round-trip miles are a $10 base travel fee. Each mile after that is $1.
What is Remote Online Notary?
You appear live on a Texas-approved video platform. The platform checks your photo ID and asks identity questions. The session is recorded because Texas law requires it. I stay in Texas. You may be elsewhere if Texas law allows it. There is no travel fee. The person or company receiving the document decides whether to accept a Texas online certificate.
What do I need to bring?
A current government photo ID, and the complete document. Every signer must appear in person, or on camera for a remote session. If the ID is missing or expired, the papers are incomplete, or a signer will not sign, I cannot perform the act.
How much does it cost?
Notarial-act fees are the Texas maximums. Travel, time of day, location, waiting, printing, and similar charges are separate, and they are billed only when the act is performed. The fee schedule lists each rate, and the quote builder applies those rates to your details.
Is the quote the amount I will pay?
No. The quote is a high-end estimate, not a bill, and sending it does not hold a time until I confirm. After your first completed appointment, later work is 15 percent off. The quote does not include it.
Do you require a deposit?
No. There is no deposit on a traditional, mobile, or remote appointment.
What if I cancel?
If you cancel or do not appear, and I do not perform a notarial act, there is no charge. A cancellation is not an official act, so Texas Government Code § 406.024 does not allow a cancellation fee. Travel, time of day, location, waiting, and printing are billed only when the act is performed.
When do I pay, and when do I get the documents?
Payment is due when you receive the invoice. I release the notarized documents only after that payment is received.
How do I make an appointment?
Call or text (806) 543-3374, email eric@double-e-notaryservices.com, or use Book an appointment on any page. Tell me the document, how many people will sign, and whether you need a visit or a remote session.
Is the Texas Notary Record Book for sale?
Yes. The For Fellow Notaries page is for a Texas notary, not for a signer. From there, open the Texas Notary Record Book, choose how many license keys you want, and email the order. The price includes Texas sales tax. An order can take up to 24 hours to process. You can also book a demo from that page.
