The rule
If you cancel or do not appear, and I do not perform a notarial act, there is no charge. A cancellation is not an official act, so Texas Government Code § 406.024 does not allow a cancellation fee. Travel, time of day, location, waiting, and printing are billed only when the act is performed.
There is no cancellation fee and no no-show fee. If I have already left, or if I arrive and the act cannot be completed, there is still no charge.
How to cancel
Call or text (806) 543-3374, or email eric@double-e-notaryservices.com. If you booked on the scheduling calendar, cancel that appointment too.
You may cancel at any time before the notarial act. A late cancellation is treated the same as an early one.
If the act cannot be completed
If I arrive, or if an online session has started, and the act cannot be completed, there is still no charge. That includes missing or unacceptable identification, an unwilling signer, incomplete documents, or a refusal to sign.
I may refuse an act that Texas law does not allow. A refusal is not a fee.
Remote Online Notary
If the identity check cannot be completed, or the session ends before the notarial act, there is no charge. I will make a reasonable effort to reschedule.
When an appointment is completed
If the notarial act is performed, the invoice is the statutory fee for that act, plus any travel, scheduling, location, waiting, printing, rush, or courier charge that applied. Those are not cancellation fees. They are not billed when the act is not performed.
Payment is due when you receive the invoice. I release the notarized documents only after that payment is received.
